Booking Terms and Policies
Good Dog People
Policies & Procedures
At Good Dog People, our goal is to provide safe, enjoyable and enriching adventures for every dog in our care. The following policies help ensure a positive experience for our dogs, their owners and our team.
Bookings
Bookings are subject to availability and suitability.
Our Group Play Adventures operate Monday to Friday.
To provide the safest and most enjoyable experience, clients book their preferred day rather than a specific adventure time. Dogs are carefully allocated to the most suitable adventure group based on their location, temperament, compatibility and operational requirements.
While we aim to provide consistent collection windows, exact pickup and return times cannot be guaranteed.
Regular Weekly Adventures
Dogs attending two or more adventures per week are eligible for our discounted Regular Weekly Adventure rate.
Regular bookings reserve your dog's place within our adventure groups. If you wish to make changes to your regular schedule, please contact us as early as possible.
Cancellations
We understand that plans can change.
- 48 hours or more notice: Bookings may be rescheduled or refunded.
- Less than 48 hours' notice: The full booking fee may be charged, as your dog's reserved place cannot always be filled at short notice.
- If Good Dog People cancels a booking due to unsafe weather, staff illness or unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered either a full refund or the opportunity to reschedule.
Dog Suitability & Group Compatibility
The safety and wellbeing of every dog is our highest priority.
To participate in Group Play Adventures, all dogs must:
- Be friendly and able to interact respectfully with other dogs and people in a supervised group environment.
- Be up to date with vaccinations (or have an approved titre test where accepted).
- Be in good general health.
- Be free from contagious illness or parasites.
- Wear a secure collar or harness with identification.
Every dog is individually assessed before joining our adventure groups.
While many dogs thrive in a social environment, group adventures are not suitable for every dog. Good Dog People reserves the right to decline, suspend or discontinue services if a dog's behaviour consistently compromises the safety, wellbeing or enjoyment of other dogs or our team.
Where appropriate, we will always discuss any concerns with you before making a decision. Our priority is maintaining safe, positive and enjoyable adventure groups for every dog in our care.
Weather & Safety
Your dog's safety always comes first.
Adventure locations, durations or bookings may be altered, relocated or cancelled due to:
- Extreme weather
- Bushfire risk
- Flooding
- Unsafe park conditions
- Other circumstances that may compromise the safety of our dogs or team
Where appropriate, affected bookings will be rescheduled or refunded.
Veterinary Care
If your dog becomes ill or injured while participating in one of our adventures, Good Dog People will make every reasonable effort to contact you or your nominated emergency contact.
If immediate veterinary treatment is required and we are unable to contact you, Good Dog People may seek appropriate veterinary care on your behalf to protect your dog's health and welfare.
We ask that you notify your regular veterinary clinic that Good Dog People is authorised to seek emergency veterinary treatment for your dog if you cannot be contacted.
Any veterinary expenses incurred remain the responsibility of the dog's owner.
Photography & Social Media
One of our favourite parts of every adventure is capturing the special moments our dogs share together.
From time to time, we may take photographs or videos of your dog during their adventures. These images may be used on our website, social media platforms and other promotional material.
If you would prefer that your dog is not featured in photographs or videos, simply let us know in writing and we will happily respect your preference.
Owner Responsibilities
Owners agree to:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information about their dog's health and behaviour.
- Inform Good Dog People of any changes to their dog's health, medication or behaviour before each adventure.
- Ensure their dog wears a secure collar or harness with current identification.
- Ensure their dog has access to fresh water before collection.
- Ensure their dog is safely accessible for collection at the agreed pickup location.
Liability
While every reasonable precaution is taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in our care, participation in off-site group adventures carries inherent risks.
By booking our services, owners acknowledge these risks and agree that Good Dog People will not be liable for circumstances beyond our reasonable control, except where required under Australian Consumer Law.
Nothing in these policies limits or excludes any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Hi! I'm Brooke - Owner of Good Dog People.
You don't always get the dog you want; you get the dog you need. That's what they say, and the statement couldn't be more true for me. Through raising my own dog, and over-coming the difficulties of having a high-drive, motivated and VERY reactive boy. I developed a passion for understanding what it means to be a good pet parent.
I have dedicated the last 5 years in particular to researching, learning, working with trainers, and attending seminars from professionals in the industry, in everything from behaviour, nutrition, socialisation to exercise. Dogs are my life, they are also my business.
I understand the importance of trust and communication when it comes to your dogs. They are family and deserve nothing but the best care, and most importantly, to be cared for by someone who understands their needs.
There is a reason I run the business the way I do: small groups, outside, matched energy and personalities, with experienced handlers. If you would like to know why, please reach out!
